Hyderabad’s Banjara Hills’ Jagannath Temple is 5 years old and is very famous for its yearly car festival (Rath Yatra) which is being organized every year on Aashaadha Shukla Dwitiya and ends (Bahuda Rath Yatra) on Aashaadha Shukla Dashami. As on Puri and other parts in the world, the chariot festival (Rath Yatra) is well organized by Kalinga Cultural Trust, Hyderabad at Banjara Hills. This year around 10,000 devotees attended the festival and participated in Chariot festival of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra.
Jagannath Temple situated at Road No. 12 of Banjara Hills, Hyderabad was built by Odia community of Hyderabad in the year 2009. The temple was built as per the diagram of Puri Jagannath temple with 22 steps, Ganesh temple in left side of the entrance, Maa Vimala temple at left back side, Maa Lakshmi temple at right back side and Lord Hanuman & Navagrahas’ temple on right side inside the premises. The temple is beautifully built with 600 tonnes of sandstone which was brought from Odisha and by around 60 stone carvers from Odisha.
